Emmy Award-Winner Teaches Songwriting At Ridgefield Playhouse

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. — Emmy Award-winning Kevin Briody will lead songwriting classes from Sept. 18 to Nov. 6. Sessions will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday in The Ridgefield Playhouse rehearsal studio.

Topics to be covered include learning to structure song ideas as well as developing melody, lyrics and instrumentation. The recording process is also part of the syllabus.

Briody has won Emmy Awards in the Best Original Song categories for his songs “Little Star” and “We all Fall Down.” The national organization Autism Speaks commissioned him to write the song “Bring Them Back,” which has helped raised thousands of dollars for autism awareness.
