In his only Connecticut show, Krieger will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Doors. Krieger co-wrote the rock classics "Light My Fire," "Love Me Two Times," "Touch Me," and “Love Her Madly.” Named one of Rolling Stone's 100 greatest guitarists of all time, Krieger’s show at the Playhouse will feature Doors standards and classic rock 'n' roll from the 1960s and '70s.

Special guest is guitarist/vocalist Waylon Krieger, Robby’s son. Southwest Café (109 Danbury Road, Ridgefield) is offering a complimentary margarita with dinner the night of the show when ticket is presented. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass ($25 addt'l per person), which includes a cocktail party from 6:30-7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors-d’oeuvre and priority parking is available for this show by calling the box office at (203) 438-5795. This event is part of the Xfinity Rock Series with media sponsor WPLR Chaz & AJ on 99.1fm.

Krieger has performed at the Playhouse before, with his legendary band member Ray Manzarek, who recently passed away, leaving Krieger as the only living original member of The Doors. He has performed with several bands and musicians, including Blue Öyster Cult, Daryl Hall and The Black Crowes's Rich Robinson.

“Krieger's strengths are flexibility and self-effacement. A broad stylist whose influences extend to country, flamenco and raga, he could also get as nasty as he needed to, but he understood that instrumental interplay was what mattered,” said Rolling Stone.

For tickets ($80), call or visit the box office at The Ridgefield Playhouse, (203) 438-5795. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street.; ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
