Whereas the best-known version of March Madness takes place on a basketball court, JoyRide's version will take place in its studios on and off bikes.

As part of the initiative, new instructors and new classes will be introduced during the month.

The new instructors are radio show host and veteran trainer Anna Zap, Darien resident Dina Fay and NCAA soccer player-turned-trainer Amy Tillotson. All three will teach off-the-bike strength and resistance training classes that are scheduled to start Monday.

The new classes are JoyBOSU Blast, a body workout using the BOSU ball, JoyTRX Fusion, which focuses on the crucial core muscles, and JoyHIIT, which uses the High Intensity Interval Training technique.

JoyRide will offer the new classes for free during the week of March 9.

The Westport and Darien locations will offer a Passport Challenge, starting Monday. The promotion will allow patrons to try new classes and instructors through the month, accruing stamps along the way for free gear and other discounts.

“It’s easy to get stuck in a routine and stay the course, but it can also be exhilarating and empowering to try new workouts,” says JoyRide co-owner Rhodie Lorenz. “When we do, we discover new goals and new capabilities. We are excited to launch this fun challenge and reward JoyRiders when they push outside their comfort zones, mix it up and try new classes and instructors.”
