RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Classic rock band America returns to Ridgefield Playhouse for a fifth time on Wednesday, March 16.
Founding members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell, along with former bandmate Dan Peek, met in high school in London in the late 1960s and quickly harmonized their way to the top of the charts on the strength of their signature song "A Horse With No Name.”
America became a global household name with a string of hits, including “I Need You,” “Ventura Highway,” “Don’t Cross The River,” “Tin Man," and many others.
These friends are still making music together, touring the world.
This event is partially underwritten by Nutmeg Livery and Main Street Florist and Gifts. The band is a featured artist of media sponsor 95.9 FM The Fox.
People who present their tickets at Bailey's Backyard (23 Bailey Ave., Ridgefield) will get 10 percent off lunch or dinner the day of the show.
The Ridgefield Playhouse is located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street.
