Brookfield Craft Center Show Features Danbury Artists

DANBURY, Conn. -- The Brookfield Craft Center is hosting an exhibit titled "A Tradition of Excellence: Works by the Brookfield Craft Center Faculty," which features Danbury-area artists, from Aug. 1 to Sept. 6.

This exhibition will be held in the Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery with an opening reception from 5-8 p.m. Saturday. This exhibit will recognize pieces of works from over 25 faculty members representing the glass, jewelry, fiber, forge, woodturning and ceramics studios.

The artists represented in this exhibition include Jim Degen, Buster Shaw, Lanette Barber, Joanne Conant, Erin DeLuca, Robin Beth Faulkner, Viola Galetta, Lori Meehan, Rachel Morris, Linda Banks, Katherine Corigliano, Maureen Henriques, Dawn Lombard, Ellen Morrell, Suzanne Pisano, Andrew Chapman, Chris Doherty, Matthew Parkinson, LoriAnne Dunn, Clare Lewis, Lisa Scroggins, Diane Yormark, Danna Phalen, Elizabeth Ives, Christine Wilkinson and Jeannette Shanahan. Many of the faculty members are local and reside in Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Milford, Newtown, Ridgefield and Woodbury.

The gallery and gift shop hours are Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday from 11a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday from noon-4 p.m. or by appointment and features work by many of the faculty members. Brookfield Craft Center is on a 2.5-acre campus at 286 Whisconier Road, Brookfield; admission is free; ample parking is available.
