Computer-Based Careers Dominate Ranking Of Best Entry-Level Jobs

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Young adults looking to start their professional careers on the right foot should look to work in the information technology field, according to a recent survey by WalletHub. 

Six of the top 10 entry-level careers were in the IT field.

Six of the top 10 entry-level jobs were IT-related in Wallet Hub's survey. It took into account three major metrics: immediate opportunities, growth potential and occupational hardship. 

The top entry-level job was a training specialist, due to its high immediate availability, good potential for upward movement and low on-the-job hazards. 

Other careers in the Top 10 include: web applications developer, network engineer, attorney, environmental engineer, software engineer, web designer, information security analyst, financial analyst and programmer. 

The bottom 10 entry-level careers were: floor assembler, sheet metal mechanic, refinery operator, consumer loan servicing clerk, claims processing clerk, boilermaker, electronics assembler, policy processing clerk, building inspector and welder.
