Big Reveal: Apple Reopening New Store In Old Location In Danbury Fair Mall

DANBURY, Conn. — It's been in the works for about five months, but the long wait will be over Saturday as Apple holds the big reveal for its newly renovated and expanded store at the Danbury Fair Mall.

The new Apple store at the Danbury Fair Mall will open for business on Saturday morning.

Back in February, a big black wall went up over the facade of the Apple store — and the spot next door vacated by New York & Company.

Since then, the Apple store and its many customers have been in a cramped temporary spot around the corner while workers built a new, larger and updated store.

"You'll love what we've done with the place," Apple said in emails to customers. Shoppers can "rediscover" the space starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Although Apple would not comment directly on the store at the Danbury Fair Mall, it is expected to have an updated look and feel, according to press releases for other remodeled Apple locations around the United States.

In some new stores, there is a new area called The Forum, which contains a large video wall and modular seating suitable for speaking to an Apple store team member or for meeting up with friends.

Another common new feature is The Avenue, which is built to resemble a shopping street filled with services and products, including iPhones, iPads and, of course, computers.
